English language challenges

Hi today I will talk about English language challenge , at the university this subject is taught in two type of classes , in the first we practice our written English and in the second class we practice more the oral part . If you ask me how much I like the subject I said that not too much, I don’t know really why, but I felt I didn't improve  my English especially the oral part , It’ s important to say that when something in a classroom doesn't go well both part , teachers and students are responsible.

About the blogs I think are a good exercise for practicing grammar and vocabulary, and I believe that I improve these areas during this course.

 Also I believe I need to improve some aspects of English like the oral part and remember more the grammar,  my plan is to continue practicing , because now I’m able to communicate in English but I need to perfect more. So I’m thinking that I can make a course or just prepare on my own

Outside the class for speaking I’m not using much English , but  for something that is extremely necessary is for read all the new publications of scientific articles and all the new research.

For my classes my teacher request to read papers, or books in English because the last research are being developed in country’s that speak in this language, so it is a basic tool to access to the knowledge.

If you ask me what are the psychological motives behind tattoos, honestly I don’t know, but some people says  that tattoos are expressions of the tendency to channel any concern throughout the body.

Also is usually that teenagers  in search of his identity, used tattoos as a form of expression through his body .This representing also his way of equaling their peers and making a difference  from others.

Tattooing has been practiced for centuries in many cultures, indigenous from many countries were the first people who made tattoos , especially in the face . Also tattoos are very famous between sailors and later  were associated with criminal class.

Since the 1970s, tattoos have become a mainstream part of fashion,  is common in both sexes, to all economic classes, and to many age groups .

I believe that tattoos have an  ornamental function, I mean that it’s not necessary  a tattoo have a meaning, many people made tattoos just because are beautiful or funny, even some people decide to made a tattoo when they are drunk, and they have to  use it trough all their lives. Besides that  other people decide to make a tattoo , because it means something for them, for example the name of a girlfriend or the face or some family member. So if the tattoo have or not a meaning  is  the most important for me, but also always have an ornamental function.

I would like to have tattoos, but only one  and small, because hurts so much and I’m a little coward for the things that involve pain and  that beside is voluntary.

2014 IT'S COMING !!!

Hi!!

This blog is about my year , good and bad things that have happened to me in 2013. Well it is hard to make a balance but I will try .

First , some good things that have happened to me , is that I change my residence , in 2012 I lived in a house with many small rooms  and now I live with one of my best friends in an apartment, so is much friendly and warm, another good things  maybe are not so spectacular but for me are more important than anything, for example that my family , friends and boyfriend are good , happy and healthy.

Maybe something  that didn’t go  so well is the University , this was a hard year in this matter for me, because I was a little disappointed , but I hope the next year gets better.

 If I have to talk about my achievements in this year maybe It could be that I’m working in some politic and social projects that motivate me a lot, and that was a  gold I set at the beginning of 2013.

I believe we always have things to do, if I haven’t done some things yet it’s because are  long-term golds and projects, but I have progressed to get it at least a bit.

Some really good thing  that happen this year and I would like to highlight , it was my summer vacations   because  I  enjoyed  visiting  Machu Pichu in Peru , it was awesome meet new people and places.

Hi , today I would like to tell you why I decided to study psychology .

First when I was at school my teacher teach us some things about psychology; theories like psychoanalysis and behaviorism, so I feel motivated to search more information about this

 Also my philosophy teacher recommended me to read some books and that made me decided to study this career.

Now I’m on the second year of the career and not all my expectations have been achieved

If I think about the discipline before I get into the university I us to believe that exist just one type of psychology but is not like that. Also we have problems with the production of knowledge, because in the most cases is not according to social and cultural requirements.

But I still here because I believe is a discipline can bring important thing to the people and society , but we have to make an effort to change the directions of the career.

And as I said recently, we  have many ways of make psychology , and theoretical lines are important , and is a decision we have to make assuming all the implications that brings.

Until now I’m interest in clinical and educational psychology, but is not an unchangeable decision.

Finally about theoretical lines is hard to make a decision but I´m interested and agree whit some approaches of constructivism and others of constructionism.

 Hi everyone here is a summary of an interesting article  !

This article is about  a law, that is in the parliament of New south Wales in the south of Australia, the name of this bill is Zoe’s law an try to give legal personhood to a fetus, this would mean that anyone that injury or kill a fetus at least of 20 weeks could go to jail.

The author says that this law came into focus because there have been some cases where a women was taken to the court because she was accused to hurt  her unborn baby

Also show the support of the medical experts against this law.

Another case it’s about a men and father that was accused to kill his baby in a car accident, he also was taken to the court even though his wife told the police it was an accident.

She says first that this kind of laws that has been impulse in many countries are offending women rights and reduce women “to the status of incubators”.

She warns the potential danger of this law, because put the women at same level to a fetus and reduce her physical liberty.

Finally she reflects and question to all the authorities and people of Australia to think and debate about women's reproductive rights and choices.

Today I’m going to talk about holidays, first a holiday is a special day  were activities like work or class ore suspended, usually to commemorate some religious landmark or  an important date to the country, also you can talk about winter or summer holidays. I think are very important because specially in a world like this and in a country like this people are  extremely  stressed and pressed, because of the work ,money , personal problems, school or university, etc.

So a time for relax, spend enough time with their families or an important person in their life is extremely necessary, beside that is a time for leisure, I believe we must have an space in our lives to don’t do anything productive an  just rest, read for pleasure or anything else you want.

In my summer holidays I go back to my home in Iquique , so I go out with all the friends I can’t see during  the year , also I go a lot to the beach , because the beaches closest to Iquique are amazing.

The next summer holiday I will go to the south of Chile or maybe the south of Argentina, I like to travel a lot so this time is the perfect moment to do it. I will go to these places because are I would like to know it better and last holidays I went to Peru. I’m planning to do this trip with my boyfriend because last summer I did whit my best friends.

A country I'd like to visit

Hello, today I am going to tell you  about a country I'd like to visit, and this country is... Italy!!

I choose it  because they have many beautiful and historic places to visit , an interesting culture  and very delicious food. Italy is in the south of Europe, have a unique culture because is have been the birthplace of many outstanding artist, that have done contributions to the music, paint, literature and other disciplines.

If I were in Italy I will visit many cities like Rome, Venice, all the Renaissance architecture also the Colosseum, Milan and Florence Cathedral and tower of Pisa.

 I  would visit too all the museums and  the places where I can observe works of art of artists like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Botticelli and many more.Other thing I don’t miss is the Italian cuisine

I also would like to live there whether for work or study, because I believe that the only way to know really a culture is to make you part of it.
